Linguistics Incubator for Collaborative Digital Research
LINCD (= “linked”) Research (also known simply as “LINCD”) is a venue where students and professors come together to examine research questions involving the science of human language – sharing ideas, data, information, tools, and resources as they follow their own individual investigations or join together in research projects in a digital-based research environment.
The collaborative lab environment allows all participants to directly share their knowledge and experience in theories, methods, and practices in linguistic research, while at the same time benefiting from the knowledge and experience of the others in the group.
The digital research environment allows participants to experiment with the latest tools and best practices in data extraction, preparation, analysis, presentation, and visualization in linguistic inquiry.
The LINCD Research initiative currently offers several different “flavors” of research-oriented programming under the LINCD Research umbrella. Click on each for details:

LINCD DETAILS
- initiated by Mark Richard Lauersdorf (originally to support work in corpus linguistics – see the LINCD History and Overview).
- originally co-directed by Mark Richard Lauersdorf and Jennifer Cramer.
- currently on hiatus – watch this space for information about resumption of activities.
- open to linguistics faculty and graduate students and their collaborators (interested undergrads should contact Lauersdorf or Cramer).
- all linguistics research fields are welcome.
- sessions are held in the Collaboratory for Research in Computing for Humanities (RCH).
