LINCD Open Labs are times when the LINCD facilities are open for students to drop in and work on linguistics research projects – individual or collaborative, course-related or independent, with or without faculty consultation.
Some Open Labs are “staffed” by a linguistics faculty member – currently Mark Lauersdorf – that the students can consult with if desired, and who is responsible for opening and closing the facility. These “staffed” Open Labs are currently scheduled in whatever time slots the participating faculty can support.
If students wish to use the lab at other times, the Open Lab concept allows them to self-reserve the facilities (through a shared-calendar reservation system) for any time period that WTY Library is open and the lab is not already in use by another research group.
